About This Project
Visiting Manhattan’s many photo studios, one often encounters vast, utilitarian spaces reminiscent of the city’s industrial past. Typically adorned with minimal furnishings and appointments, these studios serve as the temporary canvas for capturing various subjects, from models to props, which arrive in the morning and depart at day’s end.
Recognizing a niche within the Manhattan photo production industry, the partners behind ROOM Studio embarked on a mission to cater to a clientele with a penchant for domestic settings and the intricate accompanying accouterments. To address this demand, they commissioned a unique space offering a series of versatile domestic room setups and an onsite inventory of chic furniture and accessories. This decision aimed to streamline the production process, sparing designers the logistical hassles of sourcing and returning items for daily photoshoots.
At the heart of ROOM Studio’s design lies a pristine white box bathed in abundant natural light. This foundational canvas is a blank slate upon which photographers and creatives can paint their artistic visions. Beyond this, ROOM Studio offers an array of spaces designed with maximum flexibility in mind, each tailored to replicate the charm of distinct domestic environments:
Living Room Area
Designed as a neutral space to be styled to the specifications of each production team, complete with a tastefully appointed bookshelf background, this area exudes a welcoming ambiance ideal for capturing moments of comfort and relaxation.
High-End Stainless Steel Kitchen
A culinary haven, this state-of-the-art kitchen combines functionality with sophistication, providing the perfect backdrop for gourmet-themed shoots, cooking demonstrations, and lifestyle photography.
Dining Area
Featuring an elegantly set dining table, this space is ideal for capturing scenes of shared meals, celebrations, or intimate gatherings.
Office
Designed for a touch of professionalism, the office space provides a sleek and contemporary setting for day-to-day operations and meeting clients while located centrally to meet client’s needs.
